21.08.2020 / Romania

Within the project “Building CSO Capacity for Regional Cooperation within the Black Sea Region”, implemented by FOND, Angela Achitei, President of the “Alaturi de Voi” Romania Foundation, was invited to publish an analysis of the social economy sector, focusing on the challenges of the ecosystem at regional level.

 For many years now, the socio-economic problems faced by Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, have been pressing the need to adopt models oriented towards the individual, the environment and the community. Social entrepreneurship is one of the tools by which we respond to these challenges and which can help us reduce social disparities. Social entrepreneurship offers solutions for the future of education, jobs, social order, the relationship between the individual and the state, demographic and climate change, social equality and social justice.

The article analyzes where the three countries stand from this respect and what are the steps to be taken as soon as possible.

The article summarizes extensive research of the social economy sector and highlights:

  • peculiarities of social economy in Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine;
  • relevant solutions for the specific problems identified;
  • the intervention model promoted by ADV Romania through the 2 cross-border projects underway: "EU4Youth - Social Innovation Impact - a strategic partnership!" and the “Partnership for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship” project.
