State of the Art Workshop – Social Economy in Ukraine between opportunities and challenges

 On Friday, June 4, 2021, in Odessa, in the Meeting Room of the Odessa Regional Council, between 10:00 and 13:30, took place the Workshop State of the art - Social Economy in Ukraine between opportunities and challenges.

 

The activity was organized in hybrid format by the Cross-Border Cooperation Association "Lower Danube Euroregion" (ACTEDJ), in the context of the project EU4YOUTH - Youth Social Innovation Impact - a strategic partnership!

 

The purpose of this event was to connect to dialogue all actors interested in the development of social entrepreneurship in Ukraine, to find together the best solutions for the development of financing, subsidy, loan and guarantee instruments for social entrepreneurs and to identify the most important directions to be included in public policies regarding the development of social enterprises.

 

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Odessa Regional Council, representatives of the Odessa Regional State Administration, representatives of NGOs implementing projects in the social entrepreneurship sector and young people who wanted to know what opportunities social entrepreneurship offers them.

 

During the workshop the following aspects were discussed:

  • The context of social economy in Ukraine and support initiatives
  • Social economy in the “Lower Danube” Euroregion - Opportunities and challenges
  • Romania-Ukraine Joint Operational Program 2016-2020
  • EU4Youth Project - Unlocking the potential of young social entrepreneurs in Moldova and Ukraine"

 

For ADV Romania, this event paved the way for new impactful partnerships. Mr. Sergey Kaptalan, Director of the Association for Cross-Border Cooperation “Lower Danube Euroregion” from Ukraine - Агентство транскордонного співробітництва «Єврорегіон Нижній Дунай expressed his intent to collaborate with ADV Romania with the goal of developing international and regional programmes within the "Black Sea Basin" Joint Operational Program 2021 - 2027.
